Frederik Fialin is a Danish designer who lives and works in Berlin. Born just north of Copenhagen, he has a background in fine woodworking and is otherwise self-taught. In 2020, he opened Studio Frederik Fialin where he designs and manufactures commissions for private clients, international brands, companies and stores within the categories of seating, tables, lighting and storage objects.
The studio of Fialin is the central anchor point of his explorations; as a former woodworker, the physical aspect of the work is crucial. The development of new objects and products is usually done by immediately making life-size models based on rudimentary digital drafts. The materials are celebrated and often shown in their raw form with a fundamental simplicity and a naive form language based on simple geometrics which allows the pieces to shine. As the most recent development, he now par takes in the world of lighting design, at first by re-envisioning a Joseph Beuys design from 1960, but more recently, a colourful collaboration with the Italian leather goods brand Marsèll, which resulted in an exhibition in Milan showing the craftmanship and wonderful materiality of the brand’s leather using large suspended circular-shaped lights as well as a special edition of an already existing floor lamp, the Calypso Light.
His work has been documented in the press in several publications such as Domus, Vogue Italia, AD Italia and the Financial Times. The studio is housed in a former chocolate factory in the south of Berlin, where all objects are designed and produced.

Cleaning and Care
Aluminium
Daily cleaning can be done with a soft cloth dampened with clean water or a very mild soap/detergent. Avoid using chemical cleaners on the furniture. After cleaning, rinse the aluminium thoroughly and dry it with a soft cloth to prevent streaks and scratches.
Polyethylene
The material can be cleaned daily with a soft cloth and clean water. Avoid ammonia-based or abrasive chemical cleaners.
Stainless Steel
For regular cleaning of stainless steel, pH-neutral soap and water are adequate when applied with a sponge or cloth. Wipe and dry the surface afterwards.
Wood
Wipe the oiled wood with a clean, dry cloth. If possible, avoid using damp cloths on oil-treated surfaces. However, if stains remain after using a dry cloth, gently wipe with a soft cloth dampened in clean water, then immediately dry with a clean cloth. Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain.
Material Disclaimer
Aluminium
Each piece is unique, with natural scratches and irregularities in the aluminium. Over time, it develops a patina with marks and a tinted finish. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, it won’t rust or deteriorate. Wet items may leave marks.
Polyethylene
Polyethylene scratches easily and may already show some minor scratches upon delivery. Never place hot pots or pans directly on the surface; always use a trivet or table mat for protection. The surface can be cleaned with mild soap and a soft cloth. Exposure to sunlight may cause discolouration.
Stainless Steel
Each piece is unique, with minor scratches or irregularities due to the nature of stainless steel. Over time, it develops a patina, with marks adding to its character. Only select stainless steel furniture is suitable for outdoor use—please consult us first. Wet items may leave marks.
Wood
Wood is a natural material, so variations in texture, grain, and knots are to be expected. As a result, the exact appearance of each board or product may differ. We do not guarantee the precise colour, finish, or overall look of any item, but we aim to always source materials of the highest quality available.
